Postcrossing 6: Contagem MG, Brazil
I collect all sorts of postcards but one type I particularly enjoy collecting are advertisement postcards. People are somewhat surprised when I say that. Yes, the postcard ads that almost nobody wants and one that you might usually throw immediately after getting, that kind.
They’re free, ad-driven and easy to get, so why do I collect them? I don’t really have a reasonable answer except that I admire creative people and I find advertising really interesting. I love colored print ads and at some point even kept folders filled with cut-out ads from magazines! I love advertising and I love postcards. So it makes sense, I’d collect FREE postcard ads. 🙂
Postcard ads are not very popular in the Philippines so my collection have been primarily from foreign magazines that sometimes include such. My collection obviously increased now that I’m here in the United States. They’re readily available in bars and restaurants I go to and some specialty shops.
A fellow postcrosser, Ana from Brazil sent me six beautiful postcard ads from her collection (and am happy that I’m not the only strange one collecting free postcard ads!), which she got from Belo Horizonte, Brazil and when she lived in Italy! Cute stamps too! Enjoy…

I am glad I found a fellow postcrosser and postcard collector. You have a beautiful collection here. I just started postcrossing not too long ago and am enjoying it.
